Our Schedule in China

5/30 Leave the U.S. for Guangzhou. Please refer to your tickets for exact flight information.

5/31 Still en route……

6/1 Arrive in Guangzhou.
Welcomed by CCAI Representative Jocelyn (13711224240 cell).
(If calling from the US, add 011 86 then the phone number).
Go to the Victory Hotel. It is appropriate to tip the luggage handler about $2 per room upon arrival.

6/2-3 Free time! Enjoy Guangzhou!
You will meet with Jocelyn sometime to prepare paperwork, fees, and gifts.

6/4 Please be sure you are dressed in Business Casual attire for today’s events. Thank you!
Go to the Provincial Civil Affairs Office this afternoon to receive your child. Congratulations!
Your child will be delivered by the Orphanage Director and orphanage staff.

6/5 Adoption Registration and Notarization.
Note: You will use your child’s Chinese name to fill out all paperwork.
Also, if you have changed your address and have an updated home study, it is imperative that you maintain consistency of address with all paperwork and in all interviews with BOTH governments while you’re in China.

An optional shopping trip to the local department store for supplies. Pay as you go.

6/6 Receive your child’s adoption registration certificate today.
Parents: Check printing and spellings very carefully!
You must make sure all addresses, photos, spelling, etc. are correct. Alert your representative IMMEDIATELY if anything is incorrect. Failure to have EXACTLY correct documents can mean
that the U.S. Consulate may refuse to process your child’s entry visa into the U.S

Apply for your child’s passport.

6/7-11 Free time. Optional city tours are available. Ask Jocelyn for details. Pay as you go.
Waiting for adoption paperwork.

6/12 Receive your child’s passport today.

Your child’s visa physical exam and visa photo will be today. You will be walking to the clinic. Bring baby/child supplies (bottle, diaper, water, snack, etc.). Be ready to go!
Meet with Jocelyn to prepare paperwork for the Consulate appointment: Please bring all of your documents and passports to this meeting. Your CCAI rep will have the required forms for you to fill out.

6/13 Today is your Consulate appointment.
Jocelyn will deliver your visa application document packet to the U.S. Consulate Adoption Unit.
If you have medicines you are not using, please consider making a donation by leaving these items with your local rep. Thanks!

6/14 Go to the U.S. Consulate to take the oath in the afternoon. Please bring as few items with you to the Consulate
as possible. Backpacks, baby bags or purses are not permitted inside the Consulate.
Cell phones or cameras are not allowed in the U.S. Consulate or on the U.S. Consulate grounds.
Note: The U.S. Consulate prohibits your adult travel companions from entering the building. Your adult travel companions must remain on the bus.
Receive your child’s visa packet at the U.S. Consulate.
DO NOT OPEN YOUR CHILD’S VISA PACKET!
6/15 Leave Guangzhou for the U.S.
Due to your late departure you will have a late check out today.

Please check in 2 hours prior to departure for the US.
Please check your tickets for specific information.
